PALM BEACH REDESIGN
This project reimagines and revitalizes Rick Rose’s illustrated visitors guide, “Palm Beach: The Essential Guide to America’s Legendary Resort Town.” An entirely new dimension is also introduced by creating a second-volume book jacket, an ebook edition, a calendar, and a typographic poster.
PROJECT SCOPE
Drawing inspiration from the vibrant colors and unique atmosphere of Palm Beach, this redesign completely transforms the book’s visual identity, infusing it with eye-catching covers and meticulously crafted interior layouts. This project explores the interplay between typography, imagery, and their intrinsic roles in conveying meaning. Furthermore, the project delves into the significance of style in establishing cultural relevance.
The redesign focuses excellent attention on typography, deliberately emphasizing and strategically harnessing letterforms and numerical elements to enhance the material. Aspects such as readability, legibility, color usage, and the appropriate application of these elements in various media, from traditional long-form publications to mobile screens and decorative works, are all carefully considered.
As a natural extension of the Palm Beach project, a calendar and typographic poster have also been created to follow the same design language as the book and ebook. This project represents a harmonious fusion of creativity and functionality, reimagining an already image-heavy work and extending its visual narrative to various artistic forms.
